Personal style of the therapist in psychologists in training of basic intervention skills, a pilot project at Universidad Santo Tomás, La Serena

Abstract
This research presents the relationship between the training process in basic intervention skills training and the personal style of the therapist (EPT), in a group of 10 interns at the CAPS Psychological Care Center in La Serena, graduated psychologists and graduates of the Psychology degree from the Santo Tomás University, La Serena headquarters. The work design is pre-experimental of a longitudinal type, with pre or post training application of the therapist's personal style questionnaire or EPT-C (Fernández Álvarez, Garcia, LoBianco and Corbella, 2003), a self-administered instrument with 36 statements on a Likert scale from the 1 to 7 according to the degree of agreement, which gives a simple summation of the items grouped into five dimensions corresponding to the five functions of the EPT construct, instructional, attentional, expressive, operational and implicative. The results of the sample regarding the functions of the EPT are described, trying to observe changes between the pre and post training applications, however, the results raise new questions about the training of professionals and the development of the EPT.
